It certainly does. Whether it is helping mothers put food on the table, providing basic healthcare services, or funding clean water projects, your purchase really does make a difference. We have help from a few individuals and grants to share the cost in running the store so that 100% of the profits goes back into community projects.

Profugo is a non-profit organization involved in international development. Profugo aims to create access to tools that enable individuals to build a better quality of life. We take a unique approach to accomplish our mission through what we call our Center of Development (COD) The COD is the structure through which Profugo works alongside the community to create social change that is focused on economic empowerment and improved health. We believe our approach is a catalyst for generating positive community development that is cost effective, sustainable, and long lasting.

We believe the Profugo Market is a unique way to develop our income generating projects. We believe our merchandise connects individuals across the world in one common goal; to make the world a better place. We also believe that it puts us on a path towards building a sustainable non-profit. We hire the women to produce the merchandise. The merchandise is sold in the U.S. and all the profits goes back into community projects that also benefit the women. In our minds, it is a win-win-win.

» Do you offer giftwrapping or personalized messages?
We generally wrap our merchandise in brown tissue paper and include various information about the artists, Profugo, and our programs abroad. If you have a special request, we are happy to accommodate.

Yes, and we are big fans of International shoppers.

» How long will it take to receive my order?
Once shipped most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 5 business days to arrive depending on the efficiency of your local postal service. International shipping delivery times may vary between 2 and 4 weeks.
